The Catholic Doctor

By Fr. A. Bonnar, O.F.M., D.D.

Imprimatur, 1937. 181 page book.

This book is intended to provide not just Catholic doctors, but especially patients and laymen with a compendious and readable exposition of the teaching of the Church on medico-moral questions of practical importance.

These questions are of two kinds. The first consists of those concerns a doctor personally in the course of his professional contact with his patient’s cases in which the Catholic doctor wants to know what he must do or what he may do. The second class consists of questions which will not have any immediate and direct bearing on the doctor’s moral obligation in the treatment of his patient, but which the doctor should properly understand if he is to have that intellectual background to his more directly practical problems which is demanded by his position as a Catholic and as a member of a learned and trusted profession.
